European identity
In my opinion, the dream of an united Europe is good. Existing a pacific and firmly
established union of states and efforts guided towards general developement, has to be
a positive thing.
However, I am very concerned with the future of the Union. It looks like the "major"
countries are only trying to extend it's power and domination over Europe and concerning
the world's destiny.
There isn't yet an European Identity, shared by all the different peoples of the Union
and sometimes it appears that the decisions are made only by politicians and not by
the people.
The countries are still to much divided and they seem to gather in small "clubs" or
alliances, co-existing together a Europe of the big (or richer) countries and the Europe
of the small countries.
Tolerance, in my point of view, has to be one of the main principles conducting the gathering
of "our" different people. It must be given space to the diverse influences, that troughout the centuries have given
shape to the face and mind of Europe.
